Guesthouse terms

General reservation and cancellation terms of Penzion Kára.

Orders of services

For every order of services placed by a client (hereinafter the customer), the guesthouse issues a written order confirmation specifying in particular the scope of the ordered services. The guesthouse always requires the customer to confirm it back. For group, collective and corporate events, the person confirming the order of services expressly declares that they are authorised to act on behalf of the company – the customer. Any risk relating to this point is borne by the customer. The customer undertakes to raise any complaints about the quality or scope of the services provided immediately and without delay with the responsible representative of the guesthouse, so that the guesthouse can arrange remedy or comment on the matter. The guesthouse does not have to accept later complaints that were not raised during the stay.

Accommodation guarantee

The guesthouse guarantees a reservation on the basis of the written reservation confirmation it has issued. A written reservation confirmation is normally issued on the basis of a binding written order from the customer. Unless stated otherwise, the guesthouse is entitled to require a deposit for the services provided, payable before the arrival date. The amount of the deposit and its due date are stated on the invoice. If the deposit is not paid to the guesthouse by the due date, the guesthouse considers the reservation cancelled without compensation. The guesthouse guarantees accommodation on the day of arrival until 5:00 p.m. local time. After that time the guesthouse is entitled to offer the capacity to another guest. If informed in advance, the reservation time can be extended by agreement.

Scope of services

The guesthouse undertakes to provide the services in line with the order confirmation, in a scope and quality appropriate to the standard and quality classification of the guesthouse, and at the prices stated in the order confirmation.

Cancellation conditions

The client must always make any changes to a reservation or cancel a reservation by e-mail, and such change or cancellation must be confirmed by the guesthouse.
If a guest cancels a confirmed reservation, the guesthouse is entitled to charge the following cancellation fees:

  • Up to 28 days before arrival – 0 %
  • From 28 to 14 days before arrival, 20 % of the price of accommodation and other ordered services specified in the written order confirmation.
  • From 14 to 7 days before arrival, 50 % of the price of accommodation and other ordered services specified in the written order confirmation.
  • From 7 to 1 day before arrival and on the day of arrival, 100 % of the price of accommodation and other ordered services specified in the written order confirmation.

In cases deserving special consideration, the guesthouse may waive the cancellation fees or reduce them by agreement.

Shortening the stay or not using some of the ordered services (where they could have been used) is not a reason for refunding part of the payment made for the ordered services, unless agreed otherwise.

Payment terms

Unless stated otherwise, the guesthouse requires payment for the services provided no later than on the day of the guest's arrival, in cash; the guesthouse does not accept credit cards. If payment by invoice has been agreed with the guesthouse in the written reservation confirmation, the guesthouse issues the customer an invoice for the services provided within 3 days after the end of the stay and sets the due date at 14 days from the date of issue, with the decisive day being the date the payment is credited to the guesthouse's account. After that date the guesthouse is entitled to charge interest of 0.1 % of the total amount for each day of delay. If the amount due is not paid within the given period, the guesthouse may assign the receivable for collection. If a guest requests payment in a foreign currency accepted by the guesthouse, the national bank's daily buying rate applies.
